Welcome to the Engaging Parents and Carers Site.
This site is a dynamic site designed to provide useful and clear
support to parents and professional development for those working
with children, particularly vulnerable ones. All the information
offered freely or at a cost is designed with the single aim of
ensuring that the child is at the centre or our work and consideration
and that we all work together to improve the outcomes for the
children with whom we interact.
Parents and Carers: Please select the Parents
button and explore the activities and information provided. We
hope that it provides you with a better understanding of the environment
that will be created by the Children and Families Act and the
SEND Code of Practice. We also hope it provides you with some
of the questions you might want to ask of those professionals
with whom you will be working to help your child.
Professionals: Please do explore the Parents
site so you are better prepared for the questions they might ask.
Please also consider undertaking the training activities which
can be found by clicking on the Training Course button at the
top of this page. The Training Course takes you through a range
of topics from the way your environment might be seen by parents
and children, through activities to help you communicate more
effectively to detailed information about the Children and Families
Act and the SEND Code of Practice. You can register instantly
for this course by following the pay directions or you can arrange
for payment through your school or organisation to obtain your
own login and password.
Feel free to revisit these sites as they will be regularly updated
as information and clarity is received.
We hope that this will help you strive for a better outcome for
yourselves and for the children you seek to support.
